Reuna Smith’s Family

Reuna Smith led a quiet life before breaking into the spotlight. In that regard, not much is known about her upbringing or even her parents, siblings, or other family members. She rose to prominence when she married the famous football player Earl Campbell on May 30, 1980.

Earl Christian Campbell was born on March 29, 1955, to Ann and Bert “B.C.” Campbell in Tyler, Texas. He was nicknamed “the Tyler Rose.” He was the sixth of 11 siblings. Bert Campbell died when Earl was 11 years old. He began playing football in fifth grade as a kicker but moved to linebacker in sixth grade after watching Dick Butkus, whom he modeled his playing style after. He has been married to Reuna since 1980 and has two children, Christian Campbell, and Tyler Campbell.

Christian played football for the University of Houston. Tyler was a running back for San Diego State but had to stop playing due to Multiple Sclerosis. Tyler now spends his time raising awareness about multiple sclerosis.

In 1990, he founded Earl Campbell Meat Products, Inc. which manufactures and sells Earl Campbell’s Smoked Sausage and other food products. He also opened a restaurant in 1999 on Sixth Street in Austin called Earl Campbell’s Lone Star BBQ. Earl has a net worth of $27 million.
